چکیده

Abstract A critical overview of the separation three relevant triterpenic acids, namely betulinic, oleanolic, and ursolic by liquid supercritical fluid chromatography is presented in this review. These acids are commonly found different biomass residues have raised great research attention recent years due to their broad valuable therapeutic properties. Accordingly, fundamental aspects such as solubilities single mixed solvents, commercial stationary phases (octadecylsilyl other bonded like triacontylsilyl, well porous graphitic columns), custom adsorbents (molecularly imprinted polymers polymeric adsorbents), mobile (conventional HPLC solvents super/subcritical fluids), mobile-phase modifiers (acidic, basic, cyclodextrins), pre-column derivatization strategies, influence temperature been compiled, analyzed thoroughly discussed terms (calculated) selectivities, peaks resolution, orders elution, systems descriptors, etc. The most achievements gaps area highlighted, together with a final comparison performance chromatographic reported literature.

Quantification of betulinic, oleanolic and ursolic acids as medicinally important triterpenoids in some Thymus species from Iran

Background and objectives: Betulinic acid (BA), oleanolic acid (OA) and ursolic acid (UA) are well-known pentacyclic triterpenoids (PTs), which are produced by plants. They possess a variety of beneficial effects including anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antitumor, anti-HIV, antimicrobial, gastroprotective, and antihyperlipidemic activities. In the present study, quantitative determination...

Antimycobacterial activity of cinnamate-based esters of the triterpenes betulinic, oleanolic and ursolic acids.

Betulinic acid, oleanolic acid and ursolic acid have been modified at the C-3 position to cinnamate-based esters and in vitro antimycobacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H(37)Ra has been determined. The results indicated that modification of the parent structures of betulinic acid, oleanolic acid and ursolic acid to the p-coumarate and, in the case of the latter two triterpene...

exploring motivation and english test preparation strategies of iranian pre-university candidates during and at the end of test preparation period for konkur examination

the current study aimed at investigating the relationship between motivation and test preparation strategies (tpss) used by iranian pre-university students in their preparation period for the university entrance exam (uee). due to the importance of uee in iran, this study also attempted to show its impact on these two important variables. to this end, 100 pre-university students in an iranian p...

Antimicrobial Activity of Oleanolic and Ursolic Acids: An Update

Triterpenoids are the most representative group of phytochemicals, as they comprise more than 20,000 recognized molecules. These compounds are biosynthesized in plants via squalene cyclization, a C30 hydrocarbon that is considered to be the precursor of all steroids. Due to their low hydrophilicity, triterpenes were considered to be inactive for a long period of time; however, evidence regardin...
